Reflection Questions

The project that challenged me the most was definitely the woven image. I found it quite tedious and not stimulating. Because of this I found it difficult to stay focused and get work done on time. I tried to overcome this by doing the project on my own time. What I learned from this is that sometimes you just have to push through stuff you don't want to. This project also happens to be my least favourite. It simply wasn't enjoyable.
My favourite project this year was the social justice painting. This was my favourite because I liked experimenting with new painting styles and I think it actually looked like who I was painting, Eric Garner. I also liked this project because of what it meant to me- police brutality and how angry it makes me.

The social justice painting also happens to be the project I am most proud of. I am most proud of this because it is my best done piece from this year and I'm proud of how I tried a new painting style. I learned that it's a good idea to try new things and branch out. I grew as an artist by gaining the confidence to take risks. Projects I would like to explore next year are more charcoal and more painting. These two mediums are my absolute favourite and I wish we could have done more of it this year. Skill I have learned in art that will help me in my day-to-day life are things like perseverance, confidence and stress relieving techniques. Projects that I didn't want to do showed me perseverance, I gained confidence from taking risks and coming out successful, and I relieved stress by participating in calming activities like painting..
